Bottoms up doorbell
I don’t know if this qualifies as a kitchen gadget, but let’s just say it does.
The "bottoms up doorbell" ($140), designed by Peter van Jagt in 1994 for Droog, features 2 large wine glasses that ‘clink together’ when the doorbell is rung.
"A fabulous conversation piece and the clinking together of glasses is a wonderful auditory metaphor for the arrival of guests."
