Compostable Cutlery

by Arieanna on September 29th, 2005

photo.nat.1Disposable cutlery - yes, it exists. And, no, it’s not going to fall apart in your hands.

This cutlery is made of Cereplast, a resin that’s biodegradable (it’s from corn and potato starch). It’s actually manufactured with the same process for plastic cutlery (meaning, yes, that all those plastic companies could switch over, if they wanted to).

The brand of this cutlery is Nat-Ur (weird, and kind of stupid name). You can buy them here. Make sure to get the ones for the right temperature, and you’re not likely going to be able to use these for anything like hot soup.
