German Wine Maker Nutcracker
Based on sheer volume of products, I’d have to guess that salt & pepper shakers and nutcrackers are the two most collected gadgets of the kitchen. They seem to be things people want to have "lots" of, and so the designs can be fun and fanciful.
In particular, nutcrackers are said in German folklore to bring good fortune to the home - perhaps why they are collected.
The German Wine Maker Nutcracker is one in a series of nutcrackers with character charm. Aside from the bee-keeper, bread-maker, pizza maker and gingerbread man, the Wine Maker adds whimsy to function:

This cute little guy is handmade by Steinbach in the Ore Mountains of Germany, where nutcrackers have been made by skilled trade for generations.
