The Octopus Cake Pan from Williams Sonoma caught my eye recently in their catalogue. The cake pan creates an incredibly detailed octopus shape, piled up on the sea shore, so even without decorations as elaborate as those featured, would look very cute.

I bought this cake pan last year, for my son. He loved it so much that he requested this same Octopus cake for his birthday this year. I bought some chocolate rock candy (candy that looks like river rocks) and chocolate frosting to decorate the bottom of the cake.
It is a hit and it is one of my favorite cakes to make.
