Silicon 6-cup Cook ‘n Bake Muffin Pan

by Arieanna on January 20th, 2006

Le Creuset kindly offered some product samples for me to try. I’m excited to be able to do some products-in-action reviews.

Last night I tried out a product I’ve been absolutely dying to try. I started going ga ga for the silicone products as soon as they started hitting the market. I absolutetly love to bake, but I do all my baking low fat, which makes things stick to pans even more than normal. Silicone was promised as the "new big thing" in baking, basically eliminating sticking, and shortening up baking time.

Le Creuset’s Cook ‘n Bake 6 cup Muffin is the product I received to try. I made some yummy chocolate walnut muffins last night, and success!

To prime the pan (if you can call something you can roll a pan) simply spray it with oil. Once and only once. You need to bake at a slightly lower temperature for less time, since the silicone heats up right away (no delay like with metal). I let my cooking time stay the same since I was also turning an 8-muffin recipe into a 6-muffin one.

With anxiousness, I waited and watched. And voila, muffins! I gently popped them out. Every single one - perfect. No flaws, no bits left behind. They just slipped out.

Cook ‘n Bake does what it promises. Now I cannot wait to get the other pieces I have on my wedding registry!
