Spurtle - Scottish porridge stick
This odd looking stick is called a Spurtle.
The spurtle is traditionally used in Scotland. Back when oatmeal took a really really long time to cook.
Now, it’s just a cute traditional piece that has some utilitarian value, but offers more enjoyment just from its history.
All of these particular spurtles are hand made from hard maple.
Kind of looks like a wizard wand from Harry Potter, doesn’t it?
