The Bagel Guillotine

by Arieanna on March 2nd, 2007

The Bagel Guillotine from Larien - also known as the Bagel Biter - is a safe way to cut bagels. Unlike other bagel slicers, which hold your bagel while you use a serrated blade to cut them, this one is completely self-enclosed. Insert bagel, push down, remove bagel.

Also available from Bed, Bath & Beyond ; consider pairing with the Bagel Butler for storage and you’ve got yourself one heck of a bagel system.

1 opinion for The Bagel Guillotine

we have this in the cafeteria at my university… they suck. more often than not, the bagel emerges squished at the point of piercing, looking like a weirdly triangular mash of bread, that you then pry apart and try to re-form. it also definitely doesn’t cut all the way through like shown - there’s a flap of bagel still attached, like a clamshell.

in theory, genius. in use, crappy.
