We bought the LG!
Yesterday we went out and bought our new stove - the LG Smooth Top I blogged before.
We looked at a lot of stoves. All the brands, all the features. I read about smooth top stoves and their maintenance. We narrowed it down, removing those with white rings on the black top (they yellow), with plastic instead of real stainless steel, and those with crappy plastic buttons put on crooked. We wanted to pay for good quality.
In the end, it wasn’t that hard. There were few left after the elimination round and it wasn’t too much of a jump between the prices, so we just went with the LG. We felt really good about the decision, despite the price.
I can’t wait to use it, and take lots of pictures of course!

We have been looking at the exact same stove so you may have just sealed the deal… Can I ask if you found a matching microwave to go with it?

We have a pre-existing microwave, but yes I think there was an LG one at the store.

I have the same stove and had it replaced after about 9 months due to the self cleaning feature disfiguring the front paint and controls (used three times). It is now about 10 months since the replacement and after using the self clean for the second time yesterday, the front panel is again becoming brown stained and discoloured. I’m on my way to the appliance store once again to complain and see what can be done. This is not the original stove but a replacement. Two stoves, both less than a year old, both cleaned three times or less and the front paint has discoloured… can I possibly have the only two lemons LG has made in two years??? Interested in other’s experiences. Thanks.
