Wine Jukebox
Who cares about a jukebox that just plays music? We want one that dispenses wine! That’s what it’s all about!

The purpose of this "wine jukebox"? Self-serve wine tasting. No rush. No pressure. No expensive service. No over indulging.
Simply enter money and receive a prescribed amount of wine. Now, if they had this in every high end wine store, I’d be more likely to buy a lot of wine. After all, the purpose is to feel confident it will be good! As a bonus, all the opened bottles are "sealed" with nitrogen to keep them fresh for the next taster.
The shop has an ingenious system in place for making sure customers don’t exceed the limit. To use the carousel, you first visit the main desk, verify your age, and request a card that resembles and works like a bank debit card. To start tasting, insert the card in one of the two ports on a machine, choose the wine you want to sample, and push a button. The machine automatically debits your card with every pour. You start with 12 credits and spend them at the rate of one credit for each $10 of the bottle’s retail price. So, one taste of a wine costing up to $10 uses up one credit, while a sample from a bottle priced at between $50 and $60 would consume six credits in one fell sip. Source
When a $25,000 machine could perhaps save the income of one employee, it doesn’t sound so bad, does it? Although, I’d rather think of it in terms of doubling sales, since I like the personal service too.
